So I just found out that all of those feather extensions you guys are wearing come from chickens bred for their plumage that are euthanized upon plucking.

So basically, they raise a chicken for a year and then kill it so you can have its feathers. About 1,500 birds a week. Though, originally they were used for fisherman.
